Backstory: Taoyun Li, or more commonly known as Li or Yun by others, was born as the third son into a well off family, the Li family owning a well known business in cosmetics. His parents had raised him hoping to offer him the best life a child could have, he was given all the attention and toys he could have asked for. But this only went so far, as Taoyun continued to grow feeling empty inside despite all that was given to him he never felt any sense of fulfillment or pride in himself not even developing an ego despite his position in the world. When he had grown to the age of fifteen he had decided to leave his family, leaving a note. With no malice, hatred or anger he simply left to go find himself deciding to live in the Wudang mountains where he encountered his mentor and master Wu Shenlong. There he learned Tai Chi although he wasn’t the best (ranked only 7th amongst the other disciples). And a multitude of Dao Arts; special spells or techniques used for combat which led to him developing the Tactical Formation technique all thanks to him being a Tao-born, a special human who is fully one with the tao their knowledge and teachings bent to shape their preferences. Now at the age of 27, he travels the world to further seek clarity. He doesn’t often fight or interrupt the events that take place in the world. He simply wanders and watches from afar, spreading his wisdom to those who need it.

Taoyun Li's abilities center around perfect harmony with the Tao, allowing him to read the flow of battle with supernatural precision. His signature technique, the Tactical Formation Art, creates a vast circular array beneath him resembling the Eight Trigrams or Qimen, guiding his every move by revealing the perfect technique to use in each moment allowing him to use his Dao Arts with ease. He also masters the Yin-Yang Fist, a Tai Chi-based martial art that balances softness and hardness, allowing him to absorb and redirect even the fiercest attacks with minimal motion. Since birth, Taoyun has held access to the Pure Qi State, a transformative power that amplifies his body and spirit in stages: from the insightful Partial Release, to the unstable Full Release, and finally the transcendent Divine State. In his Divine State, Taoyun no longer follows the Tao—he becomes its vessel, bending time, space, and elemental law as effortlessly as he breathes.
